CHAVENEAU Clio

Dr Clio Chaveneau is Associate Professor of sociology at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the director of “SAFIR”, the Research Institute of SUAD. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Paris Descartes-Sorbonne (2016). With a specialisation in migration studies, her research is focused on privileged mobilities and contemporary social dynamics in the Middle East (Palestine and the UAE) such as urban and ethnic diversity, mixed marriages and transnational families.

She is the author of “Les Internationaux en Palestine: Portrait d’une migration singulière” (2018, l’Harmattan) and co-author of “Abu Dhabi Public Spaces: Urban Encounters, Social Diversity and (in)formality” (2021, Motivate Media Group).
